Special Initiatives

Some of our most effective programs at The Bridge offer clients the opportunity to stretch themselves beyond the scope of their treatment services.

These programs give clients the chance to add dimension, color, and connection to their day-to-day experiences.

Services Offered

The Bridge Arts Institute

The Bridge Arts Institute provides an opportunity for clients to become part of a vibrant community of artists, going beyond clinical services by providing a unique and specialized forum to gather and focus on their art. Members can take advantage of weekly studio time for independent art making with expert instruction and professional art supplies and can choose to showcase their work or perform in one of the Institute’s regular exhibitions at Gallery M.

Urban Farm and Horticulture Program

This program began as a small garden intended to facilitate nutrition education and reduce client reliance on emergency food programs. Today, at eight residences across the city and on the roof of our clinical headquarters, Bridge clients grow everything from parsley to pumpkins. Program participants take part in hands-on workshops run by the Horticultural Society of New York (The Hort), where they learn about fruits, vegetables, and herbs and ways to use that produce, including making healthy meals, teas, and self-care products. Our urban farms provide a respite for clients where they can enjoy the peace of nature, take pride in cultivating and growing their own fresh produce, and connect with themselves and their peers.
